Today was humid, but mild. About 75. Cloudy with off and on rain in the morning and early afternoon.
Planted seeds of Baptisia tinctoria in Sand Area. Planted Calypso bulbosa seeds in bog; Ornithagalum nutans, Aquilegia viridiflora and Aquilegia vulgaris in sand area behind garage.

Storms, late
Today was sunny for the first half of the day, and muggy and warm - about 85. With late afternoon came thunderstorms with another inch of rain! Fortunately some pictures were taken before the weather went sour...
On the side of the house, Chelone lyonii has started blooming...
In the Acid Area, Chimaphila maculata is finally growing new leaves!
In the bog, Darlingtonia californica has sprouted many new leaves since planted.
Dionaea muscipula also has many new ones - all seen here have come out since planting!
Finally, Polygala lutea has a little tiny flower head, so far... it probably won't do much more!
Noticed today that Calypso bulbosa may be missing from bog :( !!! Suspect: slugs!

Warm and muggy!
Today was again very muggy, with strong storms in the morning! Another inch of rain! It's very wet - saturated - now! It was also warm, about 85.
Got Achlys triphylla, Maianthemum dilatatum, Tolmiea menziesii, Tellima grandiflora, Oxalis oregana and Menyanthes trifoliata today.
Planted Menyanthes trifoliata in bog, and ditch, and Maianthemum dilatatum in bog (by Aletris farinosa, on dirt part, and by D. californica) and Acid Area (at base of Azalea)
Arum italicum has come up since the bulbs were planted!

Today was cloudy with some rain in the early morning. Humid, but not overly hot - again about 80.
Got Erythronium helenae, Erythronium multiscapoideum, and Erythronium citrinum. Planted. E. helenae in Woodland Area 1, next to Goodyera pubescens; E. citrinum in Woodland Area 1 between Goodyera oblongifolia and Amianthium muscaetoxicum; and E. multiscapoideum in Woodland Area 1 next to Dicentra formosa.
Also planted bulbils of Lilium bulbiferum and Lilium rosthornii in various areas of the yard: the Pond Area, Main Garden, side of Garage, and back garden by the porch.

Less humid
Today was sunny and a little less humid, but still warm. About 82.
Brasenia schreberi finally reached the surface of the water in the Pond!
This Impatiens balsamina "suprised" me - I planted the seeds, but had forgotten until it started blooming.
Moved piece of Lysimachia terrestris from Pond to Bog garden - after two years, still hasn't bloomed. Also moved Diphylleia cymosa from Woodland Area 2 to Woodland Area 1.
Planted seeds of Trillium kurabayashii and Trillium ovatum 'Roy Elliot'. Put one dish of Trillium seeds in fridge.

Surplus Rain
Today was mostly cloudy in the morning, and then sunny in the afternoon. About 80, and somewhat less humid. The drought is now officially over, and there is a surplus in the area of 1.7 inches for the year!

Rain day
Today was definitely a rain day! Starting in the early morning, it rained and continued much of the afternoon. Was able to snap a few pictures before it started, though...
A volunteer Asclepias incarnata is blooming in the vegetable garden.
In the Main Garden, Coreopsis tinctoria is finally blooming.
Hibiscus palustris is still giving plenty of flowers!
Here is some species of Ipomoea: two were blooming this morning, but they looked identical, and were not supposed to be!
In the bog garden, Platanthera ciliaris is now in full bloom.
Finally, also in the bog garden, Platanthera radiata has started blooming!

Muggy!
Today was very warm and muggy! Looks like it'll continue for at least another week! No planting of much now, but just keeping things moist - especially the bog! About 95 today.
