Planted sprouted Maianthemum bifolium and Trillium cernuum seedlings from Fridge Dish 2 into an individual container.

Re-planted seeds of Clintonia uniflora, Aslepias rubra, Asclepias lanceolata, Coptis laciniata, Cornus unalaschkensis, Xerophyllum asphodeloides and Xerophyllum tenax from Fridge Dish 2 into peaty soil in a new container.

Though there were many plants, a lone Trientalis borealis flower is all that graced the bog.

Ledum groenlandicum always reminds me of the cultivated Rhododenrons.

Arctostaphylos uva-ursi has nice flowers, but they're small, so easy to miss...

Caltha palustris brings a full yellow splash to spring...


Another amazing berry-keeper, Mitchella repens...

A Heath family extravaganza....

Chamaedaphne calyculata is looking very nice...

Epigaea repens was just past peak, but I had to take a picture anyway...

I am always amazed Gaultheria procumbens keeps its berries through winter...

Vaccinium myrtilloides has good flowers, and there should be lots of blueberries later!

In Woodland Area 1...
Phlox stolonifera surprised me - I really didn't expect this nice of a flower.

Trillium catesbaei - not as pink as I was hoping for, but still nice.

Got Stenanthium gramineum, and planted in Bog Garden, Woodland Area 1 and Sand Area.

Podophyllum peltatum is blooming very nicely.

Took individual seed cups plant 1-29-08 put of fridge.

Put seeds of Jeffersonia diphylla in fridge.

Planted Cypripedium guttatum and Cypripedium yatabeanum in Woodland Area 1.

Galearis spectabilis is looking very nice in Woodland Area 1.

Also there, the spring annual Collinsia verna is blooming nicely.

In the Main Garden, Trillium recurvatum is also blooming.

Planted Cypripedium guttatum and Cypripedium yatabeanum seedlings in small pot.

And in the Main Garden, Cypripedium parviflorum pubescens is in full bloom.

Took seeds from large flat planted 1-29-08 out of fridge.

In the bog, Viola macloskeyi is colonizing nicely.

Planted Anemonella thalictroides in Woodland Area 1, Woodland Area 2 and Woodland Area 3.

Planted Circaea lutetiana, Polygonatum biflorum, Osmorhiza longistylis, Smilacina racemosa, Phryma leptostachya, Arisaema triphyllum, Trillium grandiflorum, Anemone quinquefolia, Viola pubescens and Uvularia sessilifolia in Woodland Area 3.

Planted Helonias bullata seedlings in Bog Garden.

Actaea rubra is blooming in Woodland Area 1.

This Ajuga reptans surprised me in the Main Garden - didn't know it lived from 2 years ago!

Dicentra spectabilis in full bloom.

Euphorbia cyparissias is always nice for some unusual spring color.

Got Trillium nivale, Trillium sulcatum, Trillium stamineum and Lilium superbum.

Planted Arabidopsis thaliana, Draba verna and Triodanus perfoliata in Waste Garden.

Planted Trillium nivale and Trillium sulcatum in Woodland Area 3, Woodland Area 1, by the pool, and at base of vicory.

Planted Trillium stamineum in Woodland Area 3 and Woodland Area 1.

Planted Lilium superbum in Woodland Area 1, Woodland Area 3, at base of vicory, on the side of garage, in Waste Garden, in Main Garden and in Prairie Garden.

Woodland Area 1 is start to come into its own for the year.
