Cooler today
Today was about 70, and sunny, with a nice breeze.
Dug up the right side of the bog today, to make it less likely that water seepage can occur...
Then filled back in and added more rocks...
Then added driftwood above the rocks...
Rhexia virginica is a late-bloomer in the bog...
And a small patch of Sphagnum seems to have turned a purplish color for fall - very festive!
More driftwood and rocks will be added soon - and then the plan is to put peaty soil inbetween them, and let plants grow there, also.

Warm
Today was warm and sunny - about 78.
After having waiting for a volunteer plant that came up in the bog, today, it finally bloomed - it is Rhexia virginica! Not sure where it came from, as I didn't plant it, but it's more than welcome!

Clouds... and mosquitoes
Today was finally cloudy in the morning and early afternoon, but the mosquitoes were so thick, it was difficult to get many pictures. By afternoon, it was sunny again, but not too hot - about 85 or so.
Hibiscus palustris is already setting seeds!
In the Vine Area, Lablab purpureus has made a few seeds!
Finally, in an odd turn of events, Lilium lancifolium has produced a seedpod! In the 5+ years it has bloomed, with many, many flowers on multiple stalks, it has never done so!

Cloudless
Today was sunny, yet again! About 85. It is getting very difficult to take good pictures with all this sunshine! A cloudy day would be helpful! :)

Ugh!
Today was hot again, about 87, and sunny most of the day, but a few clouds.
Chimaphila umbellata appears to be getting a new shoot in the center!
Doellingeria umbellata is blooming in the Sand Area.
Geranium sanguineum is a truly year-round plant, as it continues to bloom!
Physostegia virginiana has finally started to bloom - that means fall is very close! :(
Was able to take a few new pictures of plants and seedpods, but the mosquitoes are unbearable! One cannot go outside without having 20 or 30 immediately buzzing around!

Hot
Today was hot and sunny! About 87!
Still mosquitoes everywhere!
Planted Veratrum nigrum seedling in Woodland Area 2.
Took piece of Caltha palustris from Pond and moved to Bog Garden, out of fear that the evil worms in the pond will eat its roots in the winter!

Mosquitoes aplenty
Today was sunny and mild. Again, about 80.
In Woodland Area 2, Arisaema triphyllum is showing off its red berries!
Dionaea muscipula has a second wave of flowers now!
Linaria vulgaris is still blooming in several places...
In the bog, Polygala lutea is blooming finally!
The mosquitoes are terrible lately, after all the rain!! They make doing any gardening or taking any photos very difficuly.
Veratrum nigrum sprouted in dish from 5/28!
